Mold contamination can be very deceiving
This before and after photo series illustrates how deceiving mold contamination can be. The first picture shows a small amount of mold contamination that the customer had been putting off since, "It didn't look that bad." The customer stated that they could smell musty odors and thought they were coughing more often when spending time in this room. After the customer trusted the experienced team at SERVPRO, the extent of the mold contamination was discovered. The second photo illustrates how heavily damaged the drywall and wood studs had become by delaying the inspection. Mold contamination thrives when allowed to grow in damp, undisturbed areas, like wall cavities. Not only do you need to fix the source of the excess moisture, professional drying of the wet materials needs to be performed to lower the risk of having a thriving mold contamination.
